COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - The Muscogee County Republican Party is hosting two forums to be conducted on Tuesday, Nov. 1 at 6 p.m. and 7 p.m. at the Columbus Public Library.
A representative from The Citizens to Keep the Freeze group, opposing lifting the freeze, will send Dr. Mary Sue Polleys as a representative to argue in favor of keeping the freeze.
The Thaw the Freeze/Citizens for a Better Way organization, which supports lifting the freeze, will send Tyler Townsend to argue for lifting the freeze.
Questions will be solicited prior to the forum, and some questions may, time permitted, be presented from the audience. This forum will commence at 6 p.m. and will end at 6:50 p.m. to allow time for restaging for the next forum.
Following the forum concerning the tax freeze, there will be a second forum concerning the Superior Court Clerk race.
Write-in candidate Mike Garner has committed to attend and respond to questions prepared prior to the forum and, if time permits, from the audience.
The Ann Hardman campaign has been contacted but has not yet committed to send a representative or to identify a representative.
This forum will commence at 7 p.m. and will end promptly at 7:50 p.m. to allow the meeting room to be cleared prior to the closing of the library.
