COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - A Columbus woman was arrested for allegedly abusing her child and during her arrest, spitting on an officer, according to a Columbus Police Department arrest report.

The report says Kellie Lashaun Williams, 25, was arrested on Oct. 21 after she was seen grabbing her 2-year-old son by the hair and throat and pulling off his clothes out outside of House of Mercy, located at 1532 3rd Avenue.

The report says that Williams did not comply with an officer's verbal commands during an arrest and spit on the arresting officer's face and head while attempting to get Williams inside the patrol care.

Williams was charged with cruelty to children and obstruction of a law enforcement officer.

She is still being held at the Muscogee County Jail.
