WEST POINT, GA (WTVM) - The second annual "W.H.I.P. Breast Cancer Walk took place Sunday in West Point, GA.
W.H.I.P. stands for "working to help those in pink."
The walk is a memorial event to remember those who lost their battle with breast cancer.
Because there is a link between exercising and cancers, organizers tell us it's their goal to get participants active as well as raise awareness and funds for cancer research.
"Today we're out here promoting awareness for Breast Cancer Awareness Month, everyone seems to forget about it because after October, no one seems to care about it, so to speak, so what we're trying to promote is even after October, pink lives matter," said founder Narfunda Ross.
Organizers also tell us there were even age-appropriate exercise activities for participants who could not walk.
