COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) – A large crowd turned out Friday for a groundbreaking ceremony for the new Spencer High School.
Community leaders along with former Spencer High graduates were there.
The new school will be located on 37 acres of land on Fort Benning Road and will have 60 classrooms.
It will cost more than $49 million and funding for the project was made possible by the 2015 SPLOST.
This will be the fourth time Spencer High School has moved locations.
Construction of the New Spencer High School is projected to be complete by summer 2018.
