National Infantry Museum hosts Veterans Day events

Graduation ceremonies held on Veterans Day

(WTVM) - The National Infantry Museum had a wide array of events and activities for Veterans Day for the public to enjoy.

The schedule is as follows:

  • A Heritage Walk Paver Dedication Ceremony will be held on Veterans Day on November 11 at 11am. Commemorative pavers purchased since the Memorial Day Dedication will be unveiled during this ceremony.
  • Activities scheduled for that day include:
    • 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. - Appreciating Sacrifice, a 4-hour mini-camp teaching children 5-11 the meaning and importance of Veterans Day and the sacrifices Soldiers make daily. 
    • 10 a.m. - B-1/19, D-1/19 Graduation Ceremony

    • 11 a.m. - Moment of silence observed

    • 11 a.m. - Paver Dedication Ceremony on Heritage Walk for commemorative pavers installed since Memorial Day. Guest speaker: LTC (Ret) and Patriot Guard Captain Will Duke.12 p.m. - 3 p.m. - World War II Company Street open for self-guided tours

    • 12:30 p.m. - Local Boy Scouts will conduct an official flag retirement ceremony at the fire pit behind the museum.

    • 12:45 p.m. - Monument dedication ceremony for the 8th Infantry Regiment at Inouye Field

    • 1 p.m.- Special Screening of "Sergeant York" - free film in the Giant Screen Theater
