Columbus Girls Inc. hosts 10th annual jump rope competition

COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) — Girls Inc. of Columbus is honoring our veterans in a fun way.

They kicked off the 10th annual Veterans Day jump rope competition at the Baker Center.

The event is just a healthy and competitive competition between Girls Inc. girls.

It is also a way for the girls and family members to thank and honor the veterans in their lives and community who fought for our country.

"They learn a lot about teamwork, about discipline and how to work together as a team and the also learn what it means to give back to our community and honor our veterans," said Walter McKee, Girls Inc Sports Director.

Each team competed in different events.

They included double dutch creativity, double dutch speed, rapid fire, jump in, and single rope.
