Auburn police investigating after pedestrian killed in hit-and-run accident

The Auburn Police Department is investigating after a pedestrian was killed in a hit-and-run accident in the 1900 block of Opelika Road.  

Members of the Auburn Police Division and EMS personnel responded to the scene on Sunday, Nov. 13 shortly after 1:09 a.m. EST. They discovered an unresponsive Hispanic male, who was later pronounced deceased.

The victim has not been identified at this time.  

The Auburn Police Division is utilizing the assistance of the State of Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences to identify the suspect or suspects in this investigation.  

The preliminary investigation suggests an accident with contributing factors involved, and the individual or individuals responsible are encouraged to immediately contact the police.  

The Auburn Police Division asks that anyone with information regarding the identity of the victim, the suspect or having observed any vehicles with recent and suspicious front end damage to call detectives at 334-501-3140 or the anonymous tip line at 334-246-1391.
