COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - A check for $1,439,001 will now help the Chattahoochee Valley's United Way branch provide services to those in need across the area, thanks to a big fundraising goal for TSYS.
On Thursday, TSYS employees gathered to show their North America corporate fundraising goal had risen more than $70,000 from last year.
The Chattahoochee Valley goal also saw a big spike, collecting 60,000 more from last year... for a grand total of $1.4 million.
"We like to get involved in every way possible, whether it's serving on the United Way's board of directors, whether it's getting involved in campaigns like Stuff the Bus, whether it's going out and volunteering at agencies, we want to give back to our community," said Keith Pierce with TSYS relationship management.
In the last several years, TSYS has led the pack in United Way donations and that held true this year as well.
The United Way has set a goal to raise $7.1 million this campaign year.
