SEALE, AL (WTVM) – The Russell County Sheriff's Department confirms multiple fire trucks responded to a wildfire in Seale.
At least three fire trucks were on scene battling the forest fire that started around 12:20 this afternoon off Hyram Rd. in Seale.
Alabama Forestry Commission officials built a burn break around the fire to stop the fire from spreading. However, a total of 45 acres were burned as a result of the fire.
The commission will not know an exact cause of the fire until Sunday but say the ongoing drought conditions in Russell County as well as in other parts of Alabama and Georgia would affect the fire's behavior such as the way it burns, how quickly it spreads, as well as wind conditions.
Traffic was not affected in the area.
