COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - One Columbus business is doing its part to make sure everyone in the community has a happy Thanksgiving.
On Tuesday, Masterbuilt smoked 171 turkeys for Valley Rescue Mission, exceeding their goal of 120 turkeys.
The two have partnered for the last six years, and Masterbuilt smokes the turkeys at no charge.
"Partnering with Valley Rescue Mission is important to us and making sure that we partner with the community," said John McLemore, development manager at Masterbuilt. "And Thanksgiving's obviously a big holiday for Masterbuilt, being our biggest and busiest day and deep frying turkeys, cooking turkeys, and hanging out with family and friends is one of our things so that's why it's important to us."
Masterbuilt used two pig grills, a trailer grill, and a smoker over to prepare the turkeys.
