TROUP COUNTY, GA (WTVM) – The Atlanta Humane Society and LaGrange Animal Services have rescued a total of 54 animals from horrid conditions at a Troup County home.
In a Facebook post, the Atlanta Humane Society says they've rescued 20 Chihuahuas Saturday morning after animal control seized them from a house with 34 other animals, including ferrets.
When the LaGrange Animal Services entered the home, they were told to wear hazmat suits before entering.
WSB-TV in Atlanta reports that according to the Hogansville Police Department, there was no power to the home and dogs were seen roaming free in the home, walking in their own feces.
Residents Jonathan Gaddy and his mother, Tina Daniel, have been ticketed with multiple cases of animal cruelty and neglect.
The chihuahuas will be available for adoption once they become healthy and it will be at least a month before puppies will be available for adoption.
