COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - A police chase of wanted felon ends in a crash with four people injured on Buena Vista Road and Jeanette Avenue Friday morning.

According to Columbus Police Maj. JD Hawk, a police chase ended in a crash on Buena Vista Road near Lockwood Court.

CPD Maj. Gil Slouchick said that police with the special operations unit spotted 31-year-old Christopher Floyd, a wanted felon at 9:50 a..m in a white Nissan Altima.

Police knew Floyd had a felony parole warrant from the state of Georgia, and he was also a suspect in several burglaries in Harris County. Slouchick said Floyd had fled from Harris Co. deputies on Thursday and also from CPD prior to Friday's encounter.

CPD pursued Floyd from Floyd Rd to Buena Vista Road, near the intersection of Brennan and St. Mary's Road, when they lost him briefly and spotted him again on Buena Vista Road and Brown Ave.

Floyd passes a marked police vehicle and attempted to pass a Chrysler 2000 that was making a proper turn onto Lockwood Ct. Floyd struck that vehicle and injured the driver, himself and two women traveling with Floyd - Lacy Whitehead and Maggie Morgan.

Whitehead is being treated at the Trauma and Burn Unit at UAB Hospital in Birmingham.

Floyd will be arrested on a slew of charges, including felony parole violation, two counts of felony fleeing and eluding police, several different drug possession charges, and various traffic charges.

Morgan and Whitehead are also charged with various drug charges.
