I-65 SB traffic rerouted onto Hwy. 31, near Letohatchee after crash

LETOHATCHEE, AL (WSFA) -

Motorists traveling on I-65 southbound near the area of Letohatchee are being rerouted after a single-vehicle crash, according to Alabama Law Enforcement Agency officials.

According to Google maps, The roadway on I-65 SB between Letohatchee and Fort Deposit has been closed. It is unclear when it will be reopened. Motorists have reported that traffic has begun moving in the area. 

Trooper Jess Thornton says the crash involves an overturned 18-wheeler. While the vehicle is off the roadway, officials at the scene say it could be a while before the crash is cleared. No word on injuries at this time.

The Alabama Department of Transportation is assisting ALEA by rerouting traffic onto Highway 31, according to Trooper Thornton.
