COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) – The Columbus Police Department has made an arrest in the 17th Avenue murder from November.

Saleem Jackson, age 20, was arrested and charged with murder in the death of 36-year-old Ronald Davis from Nov.15.

Around 10:56 a.m.Nov.15, police were dispatched to the 4300 block of 17th Ave. in reference to a shooting.

When officers arrived on the scene, they found Ronald Davis inside a home suffering from a gunshot wound. Davis was transported to Midtown Medical Center where he later died as a result of his injuries.

Jackson will make his initial recorder's court appearance on Saturday, Dec. 10 at 8 a.m., then will have a secondary hearing on Tuesday, Dec.13 at 8 a.m.

According to the Columbus Police Department, more charges and arrests are expected.
