WTVM Editorial 12/9/16: Recognize good young men

COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - Two local men who played became national championship football players at Georgia, Dale Williams and DJ Jones, once again honored local high school players with well-deserved recognition.

Dale and DJ created SportsVisions and produce a weekly local sports show we are proud to air on our additional channel Bounce, seen over the air on channel 9.2 and on all local cable systems.

They brought new Georgia Head Football Coach Kirby Smart in as the keynote speaker at the recent awards banquet.

Coach Smart inspired the young men being awarded by encouraging them to never quit, always work hard to get better.
It's a message that's always welcome, whether it applies to athletes or not.

Many of the SportsVisions award recipients were recognized for their scholastic achievements, not just their touchdowns...another important message about placing dedication to a good education at the center of young people's lives.

Congratulations to the student-athletes who should enjoy the outpouring of support for what they did this year. And congratulations to Dale Williams and DJ Jones for putting these fine young men in the spotlight in such a positive way.
