COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) – December is busy as donations roll into Goodwill.

As people get new things for Christmas, they are throwing old things out.

People are reaching out to the community because those items can be used for good.

Julie Benett says people can still bring their gently used items to Goodwill Donation Centers in the area, which they can even use to qualify for income tax deductions.

"We have people walk up to drop centers so you don't even have to get out of your car. You basically drive and one of our team members will come out get the donations from your car give you your receipt and you can be on your way. So it has never been easier donate," said Julie Benett, Goodwill VP of Marketing.

The items donated are sold in Goodwill stores and the proceeds support free career services for job seekers.
