COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) – One Columbus school is commemorating National Catholic School Week.
St. Anne-Pacelli held a high-energy pep rally Friday morning called "Wedgie Wars".
Students brought in a collective 2,500 packages of underwear for individuals and families in need.
More than 5,000 people each year receive gently used clothing items from the St. Anne Community Outreach Center.
"So this is kind of our culmination of appreciation for all of the work that they do all year. They are going to be playing some games- some wedgie wars, have some fun. Then we're going be talking a little bit about why we collected underwear and who that's going to help in the community," said Katie Buyers, Director of St. Anne's Outreach.
Clothes are donated primarily by members of the church at St. Anne.
