COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) – Columbus State University's Women's Advisory Council and Nurses, Inc. presented a celebration of heart health and an education event for the community.
Paint the evening red gave women the chance to learn the causes or risk factors associated with cardiovascular events.
This is the fifth year that CSU has hosted the annual Go Red event.
There was also a silent auction, a speaker, fun photo booths, and a comedian.
The event had several activities that required group participation and they also had an informative video dealing with heart health and symptoms dealing with heart disease.
"This event is an opportunity for women in our community to come out and share their experiences. It allows them to have fun at the same time also get an update on the risk factors for women' health or cardiovascular events," said Alicia Bryan, Associate Professor CSU.
Models showed off their red dresses in a fashion show. Red was representing the color for American heart disease awareness month.
