RUSSELL COUNTY, AL (WTVM) – The Russell County High School varsity baseball team held their inaugural Alumni Day Saturday afternoon.

Major league baseball players and draftees that graduated from Russell county came out to take on the current varsity team.

Casey, Colby, and Cory Rasmus who currently play in the league are just a few of the players in attendance.

Alumni say they are glad to be back in town and able to put on their old uniforms one last time

"Well the parents decided that they wanted to have an alumni game and we had 15 kids to get drafted over the last 10 years out of Russell County. They take a lot of pride in it and want to put their old uniform on and get out here and run around for a few minutes," said Russell County head coach Tony Rasmus.

Other than the baseball game, a bouncy house and food were available for families to enjoy.
