COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - With the Valley Rescue Mission expanding, people in the Chattahoochee Valley will have a new place to shop or drop off donations.
The organization's new donation and retail center held a grand opening and ribbon cutting on Tuesday.
The new thrift store is located on Macon Road in the old Movie Gallery building.
Donated items are sold in the retail stores with one hundred percent of sales going towards the Mission's ministries, including food and shelter for the less fortunate.
"This is the grand opening of another retail and donation center," said development director Mitzi Oxford. "This will be our third retail store in the area. So we're growing and the greatest thing about that is we're growing and it's gonna help even more of the hungry and homeless in our community so that is a true blessing."
A new drive-up donation center also opened Tuesday on Blackmon Road near the Neighborhood Walmart.
