COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) – Local chefs from around the valley took part in an interactive cooking competition to benefit the American Heart Association.

The event called "Flavors from the Heart" was hosted Friday evening at the Rivermill Event Centre.

Three teams held a cook-off to promote heart healthy foods and participants voted on which dish they liked the best.

All money raised at the event goes to the American Heart Association to fight heart disease and stroke.

Organizers tell us this is the first year they've hosted an event like this. Along with enjoying food, attendees were also able to participate in a silent and live auction.
