COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) – Shop until you drop, took on a whole new meaning at Peachtree Mall Saturday morning.

As part of Davis Broadcasting's 4th Annual Women's Empowerment Walk, women of all ages gathered for a morning of fun, fitness, and socialization.

"We like to see women smile. We like to have an event where women can enjoy themselves, not feel pressure, this is not a gym. This is just a walk where we give gifts, we do some stretching, we walk around the mall, just try to have fun," said Assistant General Manager of Davis Broadcasting, Geniece Granville.

Lacing up their walking shoes, the women stretched, danced, and made numerous laps around the mall.

The goal of the walk was to motivate the women to get healthy and stay healthy.

"It's just to encourage women to come out and show some concern about themselves. Really put themselves first. And take that first step into making yourself healthy in 2017," said Granville.

This was the fourth year the event was held. It's leading up to the Annual Women's Empowerment Luncheon that will be held Friday, Mar. 10.

The luncheon will be held at the Columbus Convention & Trade Center. Regina Hall will be Keynote Speaker and Gospel Singer, Erica Campbell will be the featured special guest.
