Guardrail repairs scheduled this week for Muscogee, Coweta counties

A contractor for Georgia DOT has schedule guardrail repairs at various locations throughout middle Georgia. 

Weather permitting, work will be performed at night on Monday, March 6 and Tuesday, March 7. 

Crews will be working in half mile to one mile increments and relocating frequently. Motorists should be alert to changing work patterns. 

The times and locations are as follows:                                     

Monday, March 6

  • Muscogee County
    • I-185 northbound Exit 10 ramp from SR 80; single left shoulder closure 8 p.m. – 11 p.m.
    • I-185 northbound Exit 10 ramp from SR 80; single right shoulder closure 11 p.m. – 1 a.m.           
    • I-185 southbound south of Exit 3; St. Mary’s Road; single right lane and shoulder closure 1 a.m. – 5 a.m.

Tuesday, March 7

  • Muscogee County
    • I-185 northbound near Exit 34; SR 18, single right lane and shoulder closure 8 p.m. – 10 p.m.
       
  • Coweta County
    • I-85 southbound near mile marker 33; left lane and shoulder closure 10 p.m. – 1 a.m.
    • I-85 northbound near mile marker 37; left lane and shoulder closure 12:30 a.m. – 1 a.m.
    • I-85 southbound near mile marker 54; right lane and shoulder closure 1 a.m. – 3 a.m.
    • I-85 northbound near mile marker 55; right lane and shoulder closure 3 a.m. – 5 a.m.

Motorists should expect minor delays and are advised to reduce speeds as they travel through these maintenance work zones.

Message signs, barrels and/or cones will be utilized to alert the public of the upcoming changes.
