LAGRANGE, GA (WTVM) -

On March 7, at approximately 3:23 p.m., LaGrange police officers responded to the intersection of Troup and Taft Street in reference to a man who had been shot.

Upon arrival, officers met with the 40-year-old victim, who had been shot in the abdomen. The victim was uncooperative with officers at the scene and transported to Midtown Medical Center in Columbus for treatment.

The Criminal Investigation Division began an investigation and determined that the victim had been shot by 46-year-old Lawrence Bolden.

Bolden was contacted about the incident and voluntarily came to speak with investigators about the matter, claiming the incident was a matter of self-defense.

Bolden was arrested on unrelated warrants and was transported to the Troup County Jail, pending the outcome of this ongoing investigation.
