COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - Organizations in Columbus came together to raise awareness about a growing concern in our community.
The Domestic Violence Roundtable, or DVR, hosted a luncheon to educate people about the number of local deaths related to domestic violence.
Since 2009, domestic violence has increased to one of the top 10 killers in the state.
"Domestic violence is an important cause and the roundtable of course with different entities we are here to stop the cycle of violence. We are trying to stop domestic violence and this is how we do it through education through the community," said Vice Chairperson for Domestic Violence roundtable
