Ft. Benning holds change of command ceremony

FORT BENNING, GA (WTVM) - Fort Benning held a change of command on Friday morning.

Command Sergeant Major Kevin R. Floyd handed over his responsibilities as the garrison command sergeant major to Command Sergant Major William D. Pouliot.

Pouliot, the former Command Sergeant Major of the 3rd Ranger Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment, is a native of Copperopolis, CA. He completed Infantry One Station Unit training at Fort Benning in 1995, and has four deployments to Iraq and nine rotations to Afghanistan.

His military training and education includes all levels of the Noncommissioned Officer Education System, and other courses including the Airborne, Ranger, Jumpmaster, Pathfinder, Military Freefall, Air Assault, and Survival, Evasion, Resistance and Escape Level-C. Pouliot holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Excelsior College

Floyd's next assignment will be as the operations sergeant major for I Corps, Joint Base Lewis-McChord in Washington.
