WARM SPRINGS, GA (WTVM) - Fire investigators from Insurance and Safety Fire Commissioner Ralph Hudgens’ office are working with the Meriwether County Sheriff’s Office to investigate the death of a Warm Springs resident in a mobile home fire early Wednesday morning.

The Meriwether County Fire Department was called to the mobile home at 1138 River Road in Warm Springs after a school bus driver reported seeing smoke and flames today around 6:15 a.m.

When firefighters arrived, they found a large part of the mobile home engulfed in flames. After extinguishing the fire, emergency personnel found the body of an unidentified person, inside the mobile home.

The cause of death is under investigation by the medical examiner's office. State Fire Investigators are currently conducting the fire scene investigation.

The fire, which caused approximately $25,000 worth of damage to the single-wide mobile home, is still under investigation.
