COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - For the first time in several years, Uptown was the epicenter of a St. Patrick's day celebration.
A green celebration which made businesses and restaurants in the Uptown area feel extra lucky for the evening. The celebration was filled with food, drinks, dancing and music.
Earlier today another type of celebration going on as well. People offered to shave their heads completely bald, but all for a good cause; raising money for cancer research to the St. Baldricks Foundation.
"We're looking for a few thousand people in attendance tonight," said Vice President of Marketing and Community Relations for Uptown Columbus, Becca Zajac. "It's all free and kid friendly. We're giving away lots of beads and hats and stuff so we hope everyone comes out and joins us. We want to celebrate, not only St. Patrick's day but all these great merchants we have downtown."
