East AL Endocrinology unveils robot

COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) – East Alabama Endocrinology unveiled a robot with human-like awareness and voice interaction.

The clinic hopes to use the robot to teach patients about diabetes and other areas of patient education.

Endocrinologists treat people who suffer from hormonal imbalances, typically from glands in the endocrine system.

This Cloud enabled robot was mainly invented for commercial use but the medical clinic saw that it could be used for patient care and decided to purchase one.

"All the physicians could be walking around with their own personal robot so that they can take notes, they can make calls for their patients, they can check insurance coverage, you know amazing possibilities," said Dr. Bantwal Baliga

Another feature Dr.Baliga would like to use Sanbot for is video chat.

He wants to be able to communicate with his staff and even patients when he's not able to be around.
