Pine Mountain man arrested for home invasion; attempted kidnapping

MERIWETHER COUNTY, GA (WTVM) –The Meriwether County Sheriff's Office arrested a Pine Mountain, GA man for criminal attempt home invasion and several other charges.

The arrest is in relation to a reported incident that occurred in the 100 block of Hubert Russell Road, Pine Mountain, GA.

An arrest warrant was obtained for Nicholas Bray, 30, of Hubert Russell Road in Pine Mountain, GA for charges including criminal attempt kidnapping, criminal attempt home invasion, and possession of a knife during the commission of certain crimes.

On March 10, 2017, around 9:30 p.m. officers were called to the 100 block of Hubert Russell Road, Pine Mountain, GA regarding a call for service.

When the deputies arrived on the scene they were advised further by the female victim of what had occurred.

The victim stated that she had arrived home and was standing on her front porch attempting to unlock the door to her residence. At that time a man with a covering over his face with a knife came up onto the porch behind her.

Bray demanded that the victim open the door and let him in. The victim refused to open the door and a struggle ensued.

He then attempted to force the victim inside the residence. The victim fought off the attacker at which time the suspect fell off the porch.

It was reported that Bray ran from the incident location heading north on Hubert Russell Road.

Officials then set up a perimeter and began canvassing the area along with getting their K-9 to the location. Evidence was located at the scene by Meriwether County's investigative division.

Through the course of the investigation on the next day, investigators located additional leads through the victim.

Additional leads gave investigators probable cause to obtain a search warrant.

Nicholas Bray is being held in the Meriwether County Jail without bond.
