LAGRANGE, GA (WTVM) – A LaGrange teen is making big strides as she won the Miss Callaway High School pageant and received a full ride to the University of Alabama.
Iyanla Mosley, who is a senior, participated and won the title of Miss Callaway High School 2017 and the People's Choice award Thursday night.
Students were nominated by their teachers to compete in the Mr. and Mrs. CHS competition. In order to compete, students needed a minimum of a 3.0 GPA and they competed through essays, interviews, and presentations.
Other students were also recognized during the competition including first runners up Dylan Johnson and Laniya Lancaster, People's Choice Jibrell Jackson; Mr. and Miss Congeniality, Keegan Woods and Brianne Vaught; Presentation, Landon Sledge and Kenzie Elliston; Interview, Landon Sledge and Kenzie Elliston; and Leadership, Alice Lin and Landon Sledge.
Landon Sledge also won the title of Mr. CHS.
Iyanla plans to major in biology at the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa, AL and continue her education at optometry school to pursue her career as an optometrist.
