Keegan Bruce had two goals and an assist, while Andy Bathgate, Derek Gingera, Alexander Taulien and Craig Simchuk joined in the scoring parade to lead the Columbus Cottonmouths to a 6-3 win over the Roanoke Rail Yard Dawgs on Friday night in a game played at the Berglund Center in Roanoke, Va.

Spencer Bacon stopped 32 of 35 shots to pick up the victory.

The Cottonmouths (19-26-4) now lead the Rail Yard Dawgs (16-27-7) by three points in the battle for the eighth and final playoff spot in the SPHL with seven games remaining in the regular season.

The two teams play again Saturday night at 7:05 pm ET in Roanoke.
