COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - One week after a tough loss to the Jacksonville Sharks, the Columbus Lions got back on track with a runaway victory over the Corpus Christi Rage, 85-18.
Columbus's offense fired on all cylinders, putting up nearly twice the amount of points they did in the opening week against Jacksonville. They scored more in the first half (45) than they did in the entire game against Jacksonville (41).
Their defense was a nightmare for the Rage. Three interceptions were returned for a touchdown. Kyle Griswould, Derrius Brooks and Chris Smith each grabbed a pick and took it back for six points.
The win brings the Lions to 1-1 on the year. Next week they host the Georgia Firebirds (0-2) out of Albany, a team they beat twice last year in the AIF.
