AUBURN, AL (WTVM) – The Auburn Parks and Recreation Department hosted the second annual Hands on Nutrition event Monday evening.

The event is designed to teach folks more about nutrition, how to grow their own produce, and how to use fresh produce in cooking.

"I think it's important because people have really started to take a look the nutrition that they use for themselves and their families even if they aren't thinking about it now it is something important to think about for the future," said Whitney Morris, the Aquatics and Special Events Coordinator for the City of Auburn.

Numerous local vendors were on hand for a pop-up farmer's market and an informational session with guest speakers was held to inform people how to make healthy and delicious food.
