(WTVM) - It’s time for another edition of the Iron Bowl, this time on the diamond. Tuesday night, Auburn and Alabama meet in their ninth annual Capital City Classic down in Montgomery.

Bama's on the wrong end of this particular game, they've lost seven of the eight times they've met the Tigers down in Alabama's capital. They'll look to change that on Tuesday.

Auburn comes in ranked in the top 25 and 5-1 in SEC play. Alabama hopes to turn their conference fortunes around, they’re 1-5 after the first two
weekends.

Players and coaches know it’ll be a wild atmosphere down in Montgomery.

It’ll be the first time Alabama’s Greg Goff and Auburn’s Butch Thompson meet as head coaches in the big rivalry.

“I’m excited about having an opportunity to play in a game that’s meaningful, especially a mid-week game that’s meaningful and a lot at stake with
it I think,” Goff said.

“I just thought from the fan’s perspective, from our athletic department, the fans in Alabama, it’s just a great way to benefit college baseball in
our state,” Thompson said.

First pitch set for 8 p.m. ET.
