COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) – Students from Auburn High School were at the National Infantry Museum interviewing Vietnam Veterans Tuesday.
For the past five years, students have taken the opportunity to interview veterans to learn about their experiences during the war both in the field and the sacrifices made by their families at home.
The students who participate in the event will write down the interviews and submit them to the Library of Congress.
"Being able to talk to someone who has lived the experience instead of reading it in a textbook. We get the emotions they felt because you can't get that from a textbook," said Auburn High student Danielle Conover.
A total of 60 Vietnam Veterans participated in the oral history interviews Tuesday.
