PHENIX CITY, AL (WTVM) – We have reaction from the widow of a Phenix City man killed in a deadly 2015 hit and run— this as the teen charged in that case plead guilty to manslaughter Monday.

Joshua Gorman is accused in the deadly hit and run that killed Nathan Wombles.

Gorman was initially charged with reckless murder but took a plea deal.

He will spend three years in prison and 60 months on probation.

Widow Jessica Wombles made this statement on the case on her Facebook page Monday:

"I know everyone is upset and very unhappy with the outcome of the trial today.

It isn't fair and it's not the Justice that we hoped for but Ken Davis and the DA office handled our case very well. They have kept us included thru the whole process and they asked us before accepting the plea agreement. Me and Bunny Mathis did agree to the plea. We know what evidence we do have and we know what evidence we don't have that we needed. It's not what we hoped for but it's the best decision with what we have to go on.

3 yrs in prison with 60 months on supervised probation is better than going thru trial and him getting '10-15 years' but getting out after 2 years with no guarantee on probation.

 * He will serve the 3 yrs day for day! No chance to get out early no matter what!  And no way out of probation. *

Josh Gorman will be off to prison after Friday and that brings us comfort and some peace. Instead of bashing the DA and everyone else, let's just rejoice in that for now.

Thank you, everyone, for your support and thank you for loving Nathan Wombles and helping us keep his memory alive."
