AUBURN, AL (WTVM) – On Tuesday evening Auburn police and fire division were called to a traffic accident involving a pedestrian at the intersection of W. Magnolia Avenue and Cox Street.
According to police, a 27-year-old female Auburn University student was walking northbound, or away from campus, in the crosswalk on Magnolia Avenue when she was struck by a 2000 Chevrolet Silverado pick-up truck traveling eastbound.
The driver of the truck, a 20-year-old male Auburn University student, was not injured and remained at the scene and cooperated with police.
The victim sustained serious injuries, was treated at the scene by paramedics and transported by ambulance to Midtown Medical Center in Columbus.
The victim remains listed in unsatisfactory condition.
The cause of the accident remains under investigation by Auburn police.
