Birmingham man dies following shooting in Auburn

AUBURN, AL (WTVM) – Auburn police are investigating a deadly shooting in the 800 block of Bedell Avenue.

On Sunday, April 2, 2017, around 10:20 p.m. Auburn police received a call regarding a shooting at an apartment complex.

Officers arrived on the scene and discovered an unresponsive man and later identified him as Tyquavious D. Jackson, 20, from Birmingham, lying outside the residence suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

He was treated by paramedics, but unfortunately died at the scene as a result of his injuries and was pronounced deceased by Lee County Coroner Bill Harris at10:33 p.m.

The death is being investigated as a homicide by the Auburn Police Division and the Lee County Coroner's Office.

The body will be transported to the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences State Medical Examiner's Office in Montgomery for a postmortem examination.
