Muscogee County School District gives update on damage to schools

MUSCOGEE COUNTY, GA (WTVM) – The Muscogee County School District gives an update assessing schools following severe weather on Monday.

According to Valerie Fuller, the Director of Communications for the Muscogee County School District, three elementary schools and Aaron Cohn Middle is without power.

At total of 26 vehicles are damaged at Brewer Elementary with trees down throughout the area.

Eddy Middle School suffered structural damage of drainage pipes.

Baker Middle School’s bus ramp awning was blown away during Monday’s storms.

The gym at East Columbus Magnet Academy suffered insulation damage and trees reported down in the area.

Georgia Milestones testing begins Tuesday so the state of Georgia has been notified about issues or concerns with those schools that may not begin test Tuesday for approval due to Wi-fi and power outages.
