Man arrested for Sunday night murder in Auburn

AUBURN, AL (WTVM) – The Auburn Police Department has made an arrest in a Sunday night murder.

Kendrevious Dumas, 21, of Auburn was arrested and charged with murder.

On Sunday evening at around 10:20 p.m., Auburn police responded to an apartment in a complex in the 800 block of Bedell Avenue in reference to shots fired.

When officers arrived on the scene, they discovered 20-year-old Tyquavious Jackson from Birmingham lying outside an apartment suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

The death is being investigated as a homicide by the Auburn Police Division and the Lee County Coroner’s Office. The body will be transported to the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences State Medical Examiner’s Office in Montgomery for a postmortem examination. 

Dumas is being held in the Lee County Detention Facility where is being held on a $150,000 bond.
