COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - Pita Mediterranean Street Food held their grand opening Friday at their new location on Whittlesey Boulevard across the street from BMW of Columbus.

Owners say Pita is a fast-casual environment that offers delicious Mediterranean food for all friends and family to enjoy.

Their menu includes gyros, entrees with grilled vegetables and hummus.

Today the restaurant gave out free cups to the first 200 customers

Franchisee, Nadeem Chaudhry, says, "My partner, My great buddy, so long we're going to be popping up locations all over, come see us, come try the food, check it out. You guys would love it."

Columbus makes Pita's the seventh location.

This restaurant started in Peachtree City, Georgia and now has locations in Newnan, Dunwoody, Roswell, Marietta, and Sharpsburg.

The restaurant chain has plans in the future to open another Pita location in Auburn and Lagrange.
