Auburn University breaks ground on $40 million facility

AUBURN, AL (WTVM) - Auburn University celebrated a big milestone on April 7. The university broke ground on a 40 million dollar facility for the Raymond J. Harbert College of Business.

This new building will house graduate programs, classrooms and meeting spaces for undergraduate and graduate students.

University officials say the new facility will sharpen the vision for a "business campus" at the intersection of South Donahue Drive and West Magnolia Avenue in Auburn.

Plans for the facility include an "Innovation Lab" and several adaptable classroom spaces with moveable furniture and walls.

"It's absolutely critical to our growth and our trajectory to becoming one of the elite public business schools in the U.S. Businesses are much more than just a place just to have classes or hang out. They truly reflect who you are as a college and where you're going and this building is magnificent and will be a great testament to who we are as a college," says Bill Hardgrave, Auburn University Raymond J. Harbert College of Business Dean.

The building is expected to be completed by the end of 2018.
