City of Columbus to pick up trees following last week's severe weather

COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) – The City of Columbus is issuing a Moratorium on the Tree for Fee Services as a result of storm damage from last week's severe weather.

The damage was widespread throughout the city and the crews are still in the process of cleaning up tree debris.

Citizens will have an opportunity to place trees out on the curb without a charge until May 4, which is 30 days from the day of the storm.

In order for Public Works to pick up trees and debris, trees must be cut into lengths of four feet and they must be placed at the curbside for collection.

The city is asking for the public's patience as they work to clean up storm debris throughout the city.
