Auburn man arrested following shooting on Lee Rd. 57

AUBURN, AL (WTVM) – An Auburn man was arrested for shooting at a home in the 400 block of Lee Rd. 57 on Tuesday, April 11.

The Auburn Police Division arrested Eric Williams, 26, from Auburn and he was charged with discharging a firearm into an occupied dwelling.

According to police, around 2:20 p.m. on Tuesday officers were called to the home on Lee Road 57 regarding a shooting. When they arrived at the scene, officers were given a description of a suspect and a vehicle seen leaving the area.

Within minutes of the call, police located the vehicle and Eric Williams was identified as a suspect.

Further investigation into the incident showed that Williams was acquainted with a person at the home and that there was a prior altercation between them.

Williams was then identified as the person responsible for shooting into the residence and he was taken into custody by detectives.

No injuries were reported and there was minor damage to the home following the shooting.

Williams was taken to the Lee County Jail where he remains in custody on a $50,000 bond.
