Easter Sunday is only days away, and many take the entire weekend to celebrate the holiday. 

Easter weekend usually begins on Good Friday, the Friday before Easter Sunday. Good Friday is the Christian holiday that commemorates the crucifixion of Jesus Christ.

The weekend rounds up with Easter Sunday, also known as Resurrection Sunday, and celebrates Christ’s revival. 

Here are several area events and activities to bring in Easter weekend:

    An unknown driver took scrambled, scattered and covered to a whole new level at an Opelika waffle house. This is a photo of the Waffle House on Fox Run Parkway where a car drove into the side of the building earlier today. The manager has confirmed the location is closed for the time being but no word of when the restaurant will reopen. Authorities have not released any information on any possible injuries.
