Auburn police arrest man wanted for auto theft

On Thursday, April 13, the Auburn Police Division arrested 19-year-old Quanderious Lajohn Phillips from Montgomery, AL on a felony warrant charging him with auto theft.

On January 15, 2016, Auburn Police responded to an auto theft call at a convenience store located in the 1500 block of South College Street in Auburn. 

According to the caller, someone stole his 1998 Honda Accord while he was inside the business. 

Further investigation into the incident resulted in Phillips being developed as a suspect.

He was captured on video surveillance driving away in the stolen vehicle and identified with the assistance of the Montgomery Police and Sheriff Departments.

Auburn Detectives obtained an arrest warrant on Phillips charging him with auto theft.

Phillips was taken into custody by Auburn Police on Thursday, April 13 after being released from the Montgomery County Detention Facility, where he was being held on unrelated charges

Phillips was transported to the Lee County Jail where he remains in custody on a $5,000 bond.
