REPORT: CSU student allegedly sexually assaulted by man at gunpoint near RiverPark campus

COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) – Columbus State University received a complaint concerning an alleged sexual assault near the RiverPark campus last week.

According to a release from the university, a student reported that they were sitting in their vehicle near the Riverwalk early Wednesday morning when they were approached by an unknown male who had a knife and a handgun.

The suspect is reported to have threatened and sexually assaulted the student at gunpoint. The suspect is described as a white male in his late 20's to early 30's, of an athletic build, and with sleeve-style tattoos on both arms.

CSU Police also urges the campus community members to remain aware of their surroundings and report any suspicious persons or activities to the proper authorities.
