Muscogee Co. School Board approves 2018-2019 school calendar, several construction projects

COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) – The Muscogee County School Board has approved the calendar for the 2018-2019 school year at Monday’s school board meeting.

After approving the 2017-2018 school calendar two months ago, the 2018-2019 calendar includes a total of 180 days for students to attend class.

Teachers will spend 190 days in the classroom during the upcoming year.

Some of the days in the approved year include a full week off for Thanksgiving and during the last week of March, students will have off for spring break.

The school year will be divided up into 90-day semesters.

Two construction projects were also approved at Hardaway and Kendrick High Schools.

At Hardaway High, the board approved to proceed with construction for a dust collection system at the Hardaway Construction Lab.

At Kendrick High, the board approved for a heating system boiler to be replaced by an outside company.
