COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - Their future may be in question, but that didn't stop the Columbus Cottonmouths from holding a meet and greet with their fans Tuesday night at the Civic Center.
It was at least one more chance for the fans to hang out with their hometown team.
As buyers continue to look at possibly purchasing the franchise, this event is a great chance for fans to show the city, and those potential buyers of the team, that there is a good base for a hockey team in the Fountain City.
"It's a good thing to show people that there is something strong here and we're important to the community," head coach Jerome Bechard said. "It's encouraging and I think this is encouraging to see that there is a core and that we have something to start off with and build on. We're not starting from scratch, we have something to build on."
According to coach Bechard, they have 7 to 10 days to get something going in order to keep the team in the league.
